Hot Shotz Elite welcomes boys and girls from 1st grade through 12th grade. We form training groups by age and skill, ensuring each athlete feels challenged yet comfortable. Younger players focus on fundamentals, while older athletes prepare for high-school play.
We hold seasonal tryouts before each league and tournament cycle. Athletes run through fundamental drills, skill assessments, and short scrimmages. Coaches evaluate hustle, attitude, and potential, then place players on teams that match their best current development stage and goals.
During the school year, teams practice two evenings per week for ninety minutes, plus optional weekend skill labs. Summer sessions shift to three morning workouts. Consistent strength, agility, and shooting homework is assigned, allowing players to improve every single day.
Yes. Private one-on-one coaching is available for athletes who want accelerated growth or specific attention on shooting, ball handling, or positional play. Sessions last sixty minutes and include video feedback, tailored drills, and progress notes to track improvement between visits.
Program fees cover gym rental, league registration, certified coaching, practice equipment, and reversible game uniforms. Tournament entry costs, insurance, and player performance tracking are also included. Parents only need to manage personal footwear, travel expenses, and any optional camp add-ons.
Most practices are hosted at our central Salt Lake City training facility on South Camino Real, equipped with two full courts and performance stations. When space is limited, we partner with nearby school gyms so teams never miss their workouts.
Absolutely. Many of our youngest athletes start with limited experience. Coaches emphasize fundamental footwork, dribbling, and shooting mechanics, building confidence before introducing complex concepts. Beginners are encouraged to attend starter clinics and progress naturally into team practices as skills advance.
Teams compete in respected Utah AAU circuits, Intermountain Hoops tournaments, and select regional showcases in Las Vegas and Denver. Event choices depend on team age and skill, providing the right mix of challenge, exposure, and experience throughout the year cycle.
Parents stay connected through our SportsGravy app, monthly emails, and open practices. Volunteer opportunities include scorekeeping, travel coordination, and fundraising. We host parent-coach meetings to review goals, answer questions, and ensure every family feels valued inside the Hot Shotz community.
Players should arrive in athletic shoes, comfortable training gear, and a labeled water bottle. Bringing a personal basketball is optional but encouraged. We provide practice pinnies, cones, medicine balls, and other equipment necessary for skill stations, conditioning work, and scrimmages.
